About Us

Solihull Astros were formed in April 2007, formed by a rabble of social misfits and scum who played frequently at Norman Green ‘Astro turf’ in Solihull. Competing in the Birmingham Coronation football league and alliance since founding in 2007, our home ground is the delightful Light Hall School in Solihull.

Despite the relatively recent founding, the team has experienced several changes of management since it’s formation, the Astros were originally managed by Dennis Pearce Snr, father to player Dennis Pearce Jnr then subsequently player/managed by Lee Bishop, both managers enjoyed good spells in charge although the Astros were generally considered to have underperformed in the 2007-2008 season.

With a change of leadership and a make over of the squad, Astros considerably surpassed their performances of the previous season. The management duo of Chris Lawlor and Adam Knight led the team to a second place finish in the Coronation League Division 2 and a cup win in the Eaglesfield Cup.
